This edition provides many powerful functionsfor the recording, converting, editing, and processing of sound. Withthe Video Add-on, you can record from any combination of video andaudio sources.
The professional Edition also includes features like the Sound Imagefacility, the Auto Split feature and the ability to initiate a webconnection to record a scheduled web broadcast.

• Record local audio files or Internet broadcasts reproduced by otherprograms, such as RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, iTunes, MusicmatchJukebox, WinAmp, and many others.
• Record both parties of Internet-telephony conversations when usingprograms like Skype, Google Talk, etc.
• Use the time shift feature to listen to the recorded sound while arecording is being made. While listening, you can move anywhere withinthe recorded part of the sound stream and start playback.

• Record, edit and play video in AVI and WMV formats with Video Add-on.Video can be recorded from a hardware device plugged into yourcomputer, such as a camera, or captured video from your screen. You canalso background record Internet video streams in WMV format. Theprogram can be scheduled to record video from your favourite videoservices and websites.
• Use Cue-sheet files. Now Total Recorder lets you create cue-points,which can be used for splitting a file afterwards. These cue-points canbe created manually, for example to make a bookmark in a sound file.
Or they can be created automatically during a recording session (based
on pause reduction, changes of the clip information in an externalplayer, etc.) or while capturing an Internet transmission andinformation about a track changes.

• Create and edit file tags. You can create and edit ID3v1 and ID3v2tags for MP3 files and tags for WMA, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, and FLAC files.
• Edit sound files using a built-in sound editor. This built-in soundeditor allows you to cut, trim, and join your recordings. Editing canbe performed using a visual representation of the sound or usingclipboard operations. All editing functions are performed withoutdecompressing/recompressing to preserve sound quality and save time.
• Normalize recordings to adjust the level of sound. Such processingfor MP3 files is performed without re-encoding or loss of quality.
• Apply fading effects. Applying fading effects to MP3 files isperformed without re-encoding or loss of quality.
• Schedule playbacks or recordings using Total Recorder's powerfulbuilt-in scheduler. For example, you can schedule a recording and use astop condition such as an absolute time, a duration, the absence of asound signal, and so on.
• Export/import configuration settings and scheduled jobs is useful ifyou need to reinstall your system, move Total Recorder from onecomputer to another, or as a backup.

• Put your computer in standby or hibernate mode when an automatic jobcompletes.
• Save a stereo file as a mono file with channel mixing. This can beused, for example, to save the left and right channels of a stereo fileto separate mono files.
• Merge multiple files into a single file. A period of silence can beinserted between the files or a fading effect can be applied to thefiles during a merge.
• Use add-ons. Total Recorder supports add-ons that can be used forvideo recording, sound enhancements, mixing operations, integrationwith iTunes/iPod, and for other purposes.
